Biomimetic Flectofin® 3D-printed

Just 3D-printed the Flectofin® principle in order to test its scalability. Once the material distribution and the stiffness ratio between the backbone and the lamella is set right, it works quite well and can be produced with one and the same material and within a single rapid manufacturing process. Driven by a small push with the thumbs, the backbone starts to bend and thus causing the lamina to flip sideways.
